ARBITRARE´s General Meeting took place on the 4 April and appointed the members of the corporate bodies for the triennium 2018-2020. The members of the Board of Directors were unanimously reappointed. Therefore,  the charimanship of the board remains with Joana Borralho de Gouveia and the members of the board of directors remain the associates ACEPI – Association of Digital Economy and AIP/CCI - Portuguese Industrial Association/Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

ARBITRARE and the Portuguese Authority for Economic and Food Safety (ASAE) organize a morning event devoted to the theme "Practical Issues concerning Alternative Dispute Resolution in matters of Industrial Property".

The Faculty of Law of the Nova University of Lisbon and ARBITRARE, on 15 the September, signed a Cooperation Protocol regarding the realization of academic internships provided by ARBITRARE to students attending the Masters Studies in Law, with the aim of promoting a link between the academia and the Law labour market.

“Are Affected Parties an (un)avoidable obstacle to the constitution of the Arbitral Tribunal?”

On 13 July, a meeting shall take place between the Chairman of the Board of ARBITRARE, Joana Borralho de Gouveia, a delegation from CIETAC - China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission and Duarte Gorjão Henriques, arbitrator with both institutions. The objective of the meeting is the presentation of ARBITRARE and the analysis of the possibilities of future cooperation between the two entities.

The Mediation, Conciliation and Arbitration Centre of AIP/CCI-AEP - the Portuguese Industrial Association/Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Portuguese Business Association promote three new sessions of the Roadshow under the theme "Arbitration and Restructuring Mechanisms", with the aim of contributing to the dissemination of Alternative Dispute Resolution means. Once again ARBITRARE has been invited to participate in this Roadshow and the Chairman of the Board of ARBITRARE, Joana Borralho de Gouveia shall be presenting the Arbitration Centre and the main characteristics the arbitration proceedings submited to the its jurisdiction.

Following the approval of the Code of Ethics of the Arbitrator by ARBITRARE, the magazine ADVOCATUS interviewed the Chairman of the Board of ARBITRARE, Joana Borralho de Gouveia, about the latter.

The Brazilian Arbitration Centre for the Defense of Intelectual Property invited ARBITRARE to participate in the event "Challenges and Perspectives of Conflict Resolution in Industrial Property": Brazil - European Union, a compared vision".
